COOKIE JAR ENTERTAINMENT'S MIPTV LINEUP FEATURES DOODLEBOPS ROCKIN' ROAD SHOW AND NEW SEASONS OF CAILLOU, MAGI-NATION, ARTHUR AND JOHNNY TEST Classic Library Titles Round Out Wide Range of Shows Available
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
TORONTO (April 5, 2010) - Cookie Jar Entertainment is heading to MIPTV with a full slate of programming including the animated series "Doodlebops Rockin' Road Show" and new seasons of "Caillou", "Magi-Nation", "Arthur" and "Johnny Test". Classic library titles including "Sherlock Holmes", "Super Mario World" and "Sonic the Hedgehog" will also be featured.
After 65 episodes of live-action international success, the Doodlebops have their own animated series, "Doodlebops Rockin' Road Show" (26X30). Preschoolers can join Deedee, Rooney and Moe Doodle on their vibrant, fun-filled musical adventures. Along with their pal Bus Driver Bob, and their new dog BopBop, the Doodlebops help their fans solve preschool-relatable problems by hopping on their magical tour bus and journeying to a fun new destination in each episode. Each episode features two new original songs by the cast members of the live-action series. "Doodlebops Rockin' Road Show", currently airing on CBC and Cookie Jar TV, the weekend morning block on CBS, is a co-production with Illusion Studios (Argentina) and OPTIX Entertainment (Germany).
The 2010 production slate also features new seasons of four Cookie Jar Entertainment favorites. A co-production with South Africa's Clockwork Zoo, season five of "Caillou" has an increased focus on storylines about healthy habits relevant to kids today. It will begin airing on Treehouse, Canada's top preschool destination, this fall. Cookie Jar Entertainment has again teamed up with Korea's Daewon Media to produce an action-packed season two of "Magi-Nation", filled with new dream creatures, quests and prophecies in the Moonlands. Cookie Jar Entertainment is currently producing the 15th season of Emmy Award-winner and 2010 Kidscreen Viewers Choice Award winner for Best Kids Program, "Arthur". And the comedy and action are back in season four of "Johnny Test", a staple on Cartoon Network and Teletoon.
Numerous Cookie Jar Entertainment library titles from its 6,000 episode collection will also be featured at MIPTV. On the heels of the successful movie "Sherlock Holmes" starring Robert Downey, Jr., Cookie Jar's 2D and 3D CGI TV series "Sherlock Holmes" (26X30) will be available. The action-adventure show for kids 6-12 emphasizes critical thinking, problem solving and deductive reasoning skills. After three decades of gaming success, including the best-selling Wii game New Super Mario Bros., Cookie Jar is pleased to offer three popular game-based series including, "Super Mario World" (26X30). Aimed at kids 4-9, the animated action series features the adventures of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Toadstool. And another library favorite, "Sonic the Hedgehog" (130X30), based on the popular video game character Sonic, is for kids 6-12. The show has already aired in more than 92 countries around the world.
