COOKIE JAR ENTERTAINMENT BRINGS NEW BRANDS AND RETURNING FAVORITES TO MIPCOM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Toronto, Canada (September 22, 2010) - Cookie Jar Entertainment is heading to MIPCOM with a full slate of programming including new series Decidedly Debra and Ella, fresh comedies Johnny Test and Kung Fu Dino Posse, and beloved preschool series Caillou.

Decidedly Debra marks Cookie Jar's first foray into live-action programming for the 9-14 year-old crowd. Decidedly Debra follows the life of Debra Delong and her best friend Preston as they set out to liven up their sleepy town in any way possible. Created by Andrew Nichols and Daryl Vickers (Jimmy Neutron, Fairly OddParents, Back to the Barnyard), Decidedly Debra has been picked up by Family Channel.

Based on the beautiful book series by Carmela and Steve D'amico, Ella is an animated preschool series starring a charming, inquisitive and always helpful young elephant named Ella. Along with her friends, and her lucky red hat, Ella learns about teamwork, cooperation and problem solving in her daily adventures in the delightful Elephant Islands. The series will be produced in CGI against 2D backgrounds. Cookie Jar is looking for presales on this series.

Global hit comedy, Johnny Test, heads into its fifth season with creator and executive producer Scott Fellows (Big Time Rush) back at the helm. The series has been picked up by Teletoon and Cartoon Network in multiple territories including the U.S, UK, France, Latin America, Asia and Australia. Johnny Test follows the zany adventures of an 11-year old boy who serves as the ultimate guinea pig for his two older scientist sisters. The fifth season will bring the series total to 91 half-hour episodes.

Also in the comedy genre, Cookie Jar brings to the market Kung Fu Dino Posse. Created by esteemed writer/producer Peter M. Lenkov (CSI: NY, Hawaii Five-O, 24), this series follows the comedic adventures of four dinos, Kane, Chow, Jet and Lucy, who had been frozen since the ice age and find themselves thawed out in a modern day city. Kung Fu Dino Posse has recently been picked up by CITV in the UK.

Additionally, Cookie Jar brings 26 all-new episodes of Caillou to Cannes this year. This evergreen series has resonated with parents and children alike for over a decade in territories around the world. The new episodes of Caillou focus on modeling healthy habits for kids, including stories about nutrition, exercise and even environmental messages. There are now 92 half-hours of Caillou available. In addition to its television success, Caillou will be featured in a new live stage show in Canada this holiday season, has secured a new U.S. master toy licensee and continues to be a powerhouse consumer products brand in Spain and Portugal.

Leveraging the on-going vampire and horror craze, Cookie Jar will be showcasing many of its scarier library titles such as tween targeted Dark Oracle and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and the 4-8 year-old targeted Mona the Vampire. Dark Oracle, winner of an International Emmy Award for Best Children's and Youth Program, follows the lives of twins Cally and Lance Stone as they discover a comic book which gives them clues about their own lives. Partially live-action and partially animated, Dark Oracle stars Alex House and Paula Brancati (both have also starred in the hit series Degrassi: The Next Generation). Are You Afraid of the Dark? is a live-action anthology series which follows the ghastly and ghoulish stories which are told by a group of friends known as the Midnight Society. There are 91 episodes of this bone-chilling series available. Mona the Vampire is a 65-episode animated series following Mona Parker, a young girl with a big imagination, as she dons her cape and plastic fangs to become Mona the Vampire! Along with her two best friends and her cat Fang, Mona sets out to solve the weird and eerie mysteries of her neighborhood.

Also included in the over 6,000 half-hours of television in the Cookie Jar library are video-game based series Adventures of Super Mario Bros as well Sonic the Hedgehog, Adventures of Sonic, and Sonic Underground. These titles are perfectly poised to leverage the new and upcoming game releases of these two iconic franchises.

Cookie Jar Entertainment will be showcasing these titles and more at booth 17.01 during MIPCOM.
